Elementary Principal

Welcome to Lakota Elementary!

Greetings!  My name is Alyson Parsley and I am currently the principal at Lakota Elementary. New to my role this year is Title I Teacher and Student Performance Strategist. This will be my 5th year at Lakota Public Schools.  I absolutely love my role as educational leader!  Transitioning from being a classroom teacher for 12 years to administration has been an exciting experience!  I am honored to be working with amazing students, families, and a wonderful group of dedicated professionals. Our priority is to provide a high quality education in a safe and caring environment for every student, every day.

I have had the opportunity to get to know many of you and would like to share a little about myself.  I grew up in Bottineau, ND and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1998.  I attended MSU-Bottineau for one year before starting my elementary education coursework at Minot State University.  While attending MSU, I met my husband Brendon Parsley who at that time was teaching in the Grand Forks Public School District.  I completed my undergraduate degree and student teaching 3rd at Carl Ben Eielson ,GFAFB in 2001.  My husband and I were married in 2002.  I taught 3rd grade at Carl Ben Eielson, GFAFB from 2002-2003 and received my Master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota in 2003.  In 2003, I began teaching 1st grade at Dakota Prairie Elementary. In 2009 I received my Specialist's degree from the University of North Dakota in Educational Leadership.  I joined Lakota Public Schools in 2014.

My husband and I have two beautiful children, Rylan and Keegan.  We stay busy with school, sports, and our dogs Patch and Romeo. When we have spare time, we enjoy watching tv and movies, kayaking, riding moped, and spending time with family.

Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me better!  I am privileged to be working with such a supportive community that puts students first and I look forward to sharing our future successes.
